Frame your subject with empty space
In floristry, we also use negative space to amplify a flower, stem or design. It's a very powerful use of nothing! Thank you for sharing you 'Takes'.
I hadn't thought about that for floristry, but it makes sense.
I like "a very powerful use of nothing!"
My dad is an artist - we call his house the gallery - he is good about having space for pieces to breath
I will bet the “gallery” is something everyone enjoys. what genre does he work in?
He is a wood carver and does some charcoal drawings
Two very different techniques. Interesting.
This is great information. Simple and easy to apply without fancy equipment. I'm ALWAYS stressing to the artists I work with just how important it is to have good photos of their work.
I don't know why artists shortchange themselves by not having good photographs of their work. They should know better.
