So interesting! It seems simple, but when I think about doing this on the fly, it feels like a lot! Which aspect is a good one to start with for beginners?

Try placing your subject on an angle first (shoulders). There are only 2 easy choices - right or left. When their shoulders are on an angle, bring the face directly to the camera. Then, it’s easy to get a pleasing head tilt without them looking stiff.

Please practice that and share your photos. Then, I will share another trick that builds on that pose.

I’ll start with that one and I really WILL post and tag you :-). It’s hard to remember (and decide) what to focus on to improve photos/videos and honestly it’s not a vanity thing, but everyone wants to put themselves, their family and friends or their clients in the best ‘light.’ I think this is such a fun topic and appreciate you putting it out there so I could learn that I think it’s fun!

This is my philosophy: one learns photography just like one eats an elephant - one bite at a time. That’s why I named my training series “Photo Bites”.

Once you master this angle thing, the stiff soldier shots are gone forever.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you get.

I went a little crazy with my pen, but I want viewers to visualize what I'm talking about. Thanks for your comment.
